Adam Sandel is a bodyweight athlete and philosopher from Boston, Massachusetts, who trains to set records in pull-ups.  Since 2015, he has set three Guinness World Records, including Most Pull-Ups in One Minute at 51 (December, 2016)- SEE VIDEO.

Adam grew up an avid baseball and tennis player.  He began lifting weights in high school to gain strength for college baseball.  From there, he discovered his passion for training. From 2008 to 2012, he competed in powerlifting at an international level with the Oxford University Powerlifting Club. He then transitioned to his current training for pull-ups competitions and other bodyweight challenges.

Adam Sandel has a PhD in philosophy from Oxford University and has taught at Harvard for four years. He is the author of The Place of Prejudice: A Case for Reasoning within the World (Harvard University Press, 2014).  Adam’s passion is for connecting fitness and philosophy.  He approaches training as a journey of self-discovery, not only a means to results.  His ultimate goal is to inspire people at all levels to see their training as a form of empowerment that carries over to the rest of their life.

Tabata Gravity Challenge Requirements:
Pull Ups- Must be Strict Pull Ups (No Kipping or Butterfly Pull-ups)
Push Ups- Arms must extend straight at top position, must break a 90 degree right angle at bottom position.
